 Q.  How can Kirkland First help local businesses and the Kirkland community?

1.      Kirkland First will help people find the products and services they need that are available in the City of Kirkland.

2.      Kirkland First will create an alliance between local businesses, nonprofits, residents, community members and the City of Kirkland in order to work harmoniously in building a stronger local economy.

3.      Local businesses will have a greater opportunity to compete against non-local business to support their own sustainability and vitality within the City of Kirkland.

4.      Local businesses will become more engaged in adopting more environmentally and socially sustainable practices while delivering necessary goods and services to our community.

5.      Businesses looking to launch or relocate will think “Kirkland First” based on a strong program designed to help them succeed in the City of Kirkland.

Q.  Why Kirkland First?

Through Kirkland First we hope to: 

1.      Create a stronger business presence for local Kirkland businesses

2.      Encourage residents, consumers and businesses to think “Kirkland First” when making a buying decision

3.      Promote a stronger sense of community among existing residents and businesses

4.      Attract new businesses and residents to work or live in the City of Kirkland

Q. What will Kirkland First and doing business locally mean to the City of Kirkland?

1.      We are supporting our local businesses, creating more jobs and putting our sales tax dollars to good use.

2.      We are investing in our own community, our economy, our neighbors and our friends.

3.      We are providing a better Kirkland “experience” by embracing what makes us authentic and unique.

4.      We are showing the world that we believe in the businesses, community and the city where we work, live and play!

Q.  What future plans are there for Kirkland First?

A.  Kirkland First is in the early stages of development.  The first phase is the creation of the KirklandFirst.com business directory.  Ongoing plans may include:

·         Kirkland First discount cards

·         Monthly e-newsletter

·         Expanded Business Profiles

·         Advertising opportunities

·         Business to business communications tools

·         Community engagement programs

·         Business education programs

·         Networking events

The Brothers Four have been leading figures in folk music for fifty yrears. Their Golden Anniversary concert at KPC will feature familiar harmonies ove rbanjo, bass, vocals and guitars.
