Pacific Northwest Friends of FSH Research

Document Actions
Pacific Northwest Friends of FSH Research is a family based, Kirkland 501(c)(3) non-profit charity which was founded in 2004. The Colella family founded Friends of FSH following their son Brian's diagnosis when he was 16 years of age. Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy, or FSH, is the 3rd most common form of Muscular Dystrophy in the adult population, affecting more than 25,000 people in the United States. FSH research unfortunately lags far behind other similar conditions thus, giving those with this progressively debilitating condition little hope of finding a treatment or cure. With the generous support of the Puget Sound community over the past 5 years, today there is an FSH research program at the University of Washington. This program collaborates closely with researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Center as well as other research institutions worldwide. With Research there is Hope!
